Disability Support Worker

Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our north team. Empowering Futures is a NDIS registered disability support provider supporting both children and adults. The successful candidate will have good availability for work allocation, be reliable and have a can-do attitude. Empowering Futures have a large range of support options available to our participant including group social programs, 1:1 mentoring, day options, weekend activities, SIL and overnight respite care.. plus more! We are a tight knit community and value our staff and participants highly, always looking for the right fit to join our team. Our north hub is in Salisbury, office in Elizabeth and respite/overnight houses in Parafield Gardens, Salisbury East and Semaphore.

Staff are required to have at minimum:

– A full driver’s license, own insured reliable vehicle.

– NDIS clearance

– Working with children’s clearance

– NDIS worker orientation modules

– First aid certificate

– Additional training and experience preferred such as medication training, mental health first aid, MAPA training.

Qualifications:

• Certification in disability support or related field preferred
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Confidence to handle challenging behaviors and situations and attend provided training
• Knowledge of child safeguarding
• Awareness of restrictive practices
