This role
As a Mid-Market Account Executive at Employment Hero, you will lead the charge in our most critical growth segment. This isn’t a transactional “point-and-click” sale. You will partner with CFOs, HR Directors, and CEOs of established Australian businesses to solve complex organisational challenges using our world-class HR, payroll, and benefits ecosystem.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will act as a strategic consultant, navigating multi-stakeholder environments and displacement cycles to help businesses transition from legacy systems to the future of employment.
This role must be based in Australia.
Your key focus areas will be:
- Strategic Opportunity Management: Move beyond high-volume pitching to lead high-value, consultative sales cycles. You will navigate complex buying committees and displace incumbent legacy providers.
- C-Suite Influence: Confidently facilitate discovery sessions and deliver tailored demonstrations to executive-level stakeholders, translating technical features into business outcomes like risk mitigation and operational efficiency.
- Collaborative Growth: Partner with our SDR team to refine territory strategies and collaborate with Solutions Engineers to ensure our platform fits the intricate requirements of Mid-Market businesses.
- Pipeline Excellence: Manage a sophisticated pipeline with precision in Salesforce, focusing on forecast accuracy and long-term deal health rather than just short-term volume.
This will include:
- Consultative Hunting: Drive new business through a mix of self-prospected outbound efforts and inbound leads, targeting mid-sized enterprises across the ANZ region.
- End-to-End Deal Orchestration: Own the entire lifecycle, from initial strategic discovery and value-mapping to final contract negotiation and procurement.
- Value-Based Selling: Conduct deep-dive demos that address the specific pain points of a 150+ headcount business, such as complex awards, workforce reporting, and employee engagement at scale.
- Strategic Feedback Loop: Act as the “voice of the market,” providing feedback to Product and Marketing teams on the unique needs of the mid-market segment.
Who you are
To thrive in this role, you must be a career Mid-Market closer who understands the nuances of a 3-6 month and beyond sales cycle. You embody The EH Way—operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact.
- Proven Mid-Market Pedigree: 3–5+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS Account Executive role, specifically targeting the mid-market (150+ employees).
- Strategic Mindset: You don’t just “sell features”; you understand business mechanics and can hold your own in a room with a CFO or HR Director.
- Complexity Management: Experience managing deals with multiple stakeholders, technical integrations, and detailed security/compliance requirements.
- Resilience & Agility: You thrive in a fast-paced environment where the bar is high and the rewards for over-performance are significant.
- Tech Savvy: Expert-level command of Salesforce and a modern sales stack (e.g., Gong, LinkedIn, AI tools and more).
