Cleaner – Emali Early Learning Centre (Littlehampton)

Emali Early Learning Centres, South Australia’s leading group of Early Learning Centres, is seeking a reliable and experienced Cleaner to join our Littlehampton service in the Adelaide Hills. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, takes pride in their work, and enjoys contributing to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, families, and educators.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 5:00pm – 9:00pm (20 hours per week)


Key Responsibilities

Cleaning Duties

  • Clean all areas of the service, including infants’, toddler, and preschool rooms
  • Clean office, staff room, meeting rooms, kitchen, and bathrooms
  • Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing, and floor care
  • Cleaning toilets, sinks, basins, benches, cupboards, doors, and windows
  • Removal of rubbish from all internal areas daily
  • Replenishing supplies where required
  • Removal of cobwebs and general upkeep of indoor and outdoor areas
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation across the service

  • Report any concerns regarding child safety, wellbeing, or risks immediately

  • Work in accordance with all Emali Child Protection and Safe Environment policies


Work Health & Safety

  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others
  • Follow all workplace instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely and maintain up-to-date Safety Data Sheets
  • Keep cleaning storage areas organised, clean, and secure
  • Identify and report hazards or risks promptly
  • Participate in WHS training as required

 

Essential Requirements

  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Child Safe Environments Training (RRHAN-EC or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to work 20 hours per week (5–9pm, Monday to Friday)
  • Previous cleaning experience (commercial or childcare settings preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
