Summary:

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities in Sydney. This temporary, casual position offers an opportunity to provide essential support and assistance, ensuring that clients can live as independently as possible while receiving the care they need. Your contributions will be crucial in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Support clients in accessing community resources and participating in social activities.
  • Monitor and report on clients’ progress and any changes in their condition to the relevant professionals.
  • Encourage and promote independence and self-advocacy among clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and any incidents that occur during shifts.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Qualifications:

  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of disability support practices and principles.
  • Willingness to undergo training and development as required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Services or equivalent qualification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
