We have got an exciting opportunity for Trainer and Assessor (Graduate Diploma of Management) – Sessional/Part-time to be part of our team at ECA college in our Brisbane office.

Key Responsibilities:

This ECA College Trainer and Assessor is responsible for delivering face-to-face training and assessment for the Graduate Diploma of Management courses based on Brisbane campus. As a part-time position, this role involves conducting engaging and practical classes and completing marking and administrative tasks. The trainer is expected to uphold their responsibilities within a competency-based VET framework by undertaking the following tasks:

  • Understand the framework of Competency-based assessment, RTO standards, and training and assessment procedures.
  • Facilitate Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) units, emphasising both theoretical foundations and practical, industry-relevant skills across Strategic Leadership & Change, Applied Research & Problem Solving, Human Resource & Learning Development, and Portfolio & Resource Management.
  • Support students in meeting learning outcomes, assessment deadlines, and achieving competency aligned and cooperate with the supervising trainer. 
  • Deliver engaging training and encourage students to show their practical understanding of the task or questions by demonstrating it in a practical manner. 
  • Ensure training and assessment resources remain relevant to current industry practices in the management field.
  • Meet deadlines when marking assessments, finalising results within designated timeframe and provide sufficient, fair, and valid feedback. 
  • Ensure the current competency level of the lectures and assessment materials by developing industry skills and knowledge, and willingness to participate in PD activities. 
  • Monitor and report student progressions to the Academic Manager and Student Services and record attendance through attendance forms and in the system. 
  • Focus on learning progression of students by providing continuous support to help them meet the assessment deadlines and gain full competency in a timely manner. 
  • Map out and modify the resources available for training according to relevant and current industry and report to the LMS and Academic team to update. 
  • Participate in post-validation program per term to support the academic and LMS teams. 
  • Support the Academic Manager in fulfilling practical tasks, training and assessment tools, modification and other assessment competency expectations.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of Student Management (RTO Manager) and Learning Management Systems (OpenLearning), along with a proactive approach to participating in inductions, training, and team meetings.
  • Collaborate and communicate actively and constantly with the Academic Manager on the assigned tasks.

  • As the successful candidate must have: 

  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122) is mandatory.

  • Master’s degree, or higher qualification in Management, Leadership, Business, Human Resources, or a closely related field.

  • Evidence of postgraduate research or scholarly activity in leadership, organisational change, or innovation.

  • Digital Literacy – Competence in using LMS platforms, digital collaboration tools, and technology-enhanced learning methods.

  • Subject matter knowledge & knowledge of VET Sector. 

  • Right to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident/citizen or holding a valid visa. 

  • Ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team with effective interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
