About the Role
We are seeking an energetic, driven, and strategic Student Recruitment Manager to lead domestic and international student recruitment for the University of Canberra Sydney Hills (UCSH).
This role focuses on converting prospective students into enrolments, managing recruitment activities, and building high‑value relationships with:
- Domestic school leavers and non‑school leavers
- Onshore international students
- Local schools, career advisors, community organisations
- Education agents and pathway partners
- UC stakeholders and ECA internal teams
You will lead recruitment initiatives, undertake conversion activities, represent UCSH at events, and ensure an exceptional student experience throughout the recruitment journey.
This role suits a proactive “go‑getter” who thrives in relationship‑driven work, enjoys achieving targets, and is comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities
Student Engagement & Conversion
- Engage prospective domestic and international students via phone, email, social media, video calls, and in‑person meetings.
- Conduct daily conversion and sales outreach to prospective leads across multiple application channels.
- Analyse recruitment activity and prepare reports on trends and outcomes.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Represent UC Sydney Hills at recruitment events, education expos, school visits, and training sessions.
- Build strong relationships with local schools, advisors, community centres, education agents, and university stakeholders.
- Provide professional communication that reinforces UCSH and ECA’s brand, values, and reputation.
Data & Systems Management
- Manage domestic and international leads in UC StudyLink and ECA RTOM systems.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure timely follow‑up.
- Generate reports on recruitment strategies, pipelines, and outcomes.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Support the Recruitment Team with approved communication to prospective students.
- Contact students impacted by course changes, cancellations, or quota limits.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing, Admissions, Academic teams, and ECA staff (onshore and offshore).
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel interstate, if required.
- Flexible working hours during peak recruitment periods.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor‑level qualifications or equivalent relevant experience.
- Recruitment or marketing experience (preferably in the education sector).
- Knowledge of domestic and/or international student recruitment, including school leaver and non‑school leaver pathways.
- Strong computer literacy: Microsoft Suite (especially Excel), CRM/database systems, online communication tools.
- Ability to work independently with strong initiative.
- Excellent problem‑solving ability and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching, team coordination, or overseeing activities of others.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, especially in sales or advisory contexts.
- Proven capability in stakeholder engagement.
Desirable
- Familiarity with UAC processes for undergraduate admissions.
- Language capabilities: Vietnamese, Chinese, Portuguese, or Spanish or other than English.
- Experience in the ELICOS, VET, or higher education sector.
