The University of Sunshine Coast has partnered with Education Centre of Australia (ECA) to open a third-party managed campus in Adelaide, offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in ICT, Education and Business.  Future course offerings are under consideration in other discipline areas.

The Campus Director (UniSC Adelaide) is an ECA employee appointed as the principal executive officer with responsibility for overarching management of the UniSC Campus in Adelaide.

The Campus Director has management responsibility for the efficient execution of non-academic operations: student administration and support services, finance, campus facilities and workplace health and safety (WHS) – ensuring that processes are applied consistently across the campus and in compliance with regulatory agencies.  

It will be actively engaged in business growth and sustainability, working within an annual budget funded by ECA.  As Brand Ambassador, this position will also promote the UniSC Adelaide (City Campuses) brand, working with ECA shared services directors for marketing, student recruitment and admissions.

A major focus of the UniSC Adelaide campus is development of a supportive learning environment, offering support services such as learning and study skills, student events, career planning, student wellbeing and counselling services.  The position works closely with the Academic Director & Principal to deliver an exceptional student experience.  

The role requires a significant understanding of the international education sector; how universities operate; and must also be familiar with higher education standards and regulatory policies and procedures that guide student administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational plans that cover general management of campus facilities, finance and people across the core functions of education and business development.
  • Assist in development and delivery of business development strategies that increase income for the campus, including through the establishment and fostering of strong relationships between the campus, other UniSC and ECA portfolios and relevant external partners, including industry, government and investors.
  • Manage UniSC Adelaide professional staff to deliver against agreed service outcomes.
  • Manage all campus facility and WHS related matters.
  • Under the broad direction of the ECA COO and in consultation with the Academic Director & Principal, monitor the campus budget, cash flow forecasting and cost control processes to meet annual and project-specific budgets.
  • Ensure non-academic services supporting the delivery of UniSC courses at the UniSC Adelaide campus are offered in compliance with external regulatory requirements and standards -particularly those prescribed by the ESOS Act, the National Code and TEQSA threshold standards.
  • Manage compliance with relevant UniSC and ECA policies across a range of activities and processes relating to enrolments, tuition fee payments, student progress, professional placements (e.g. for Education students); completions, examinations, student appeals and grievances; and critical incidents – including record-keeping for internal and external audits/ reviews.

As the successful candidate you will ideally have:

  • Relevant postgraduate education qualification (required). 
  • Master’s degree qualification (desirable).        Extensive experience in managing diverse operations, preferably within the international and higher education services sector/s.        Knowledge of the operations and regulation of Australian higher education providers.
  • High-level strategic planning skills with demonstrated ability to operationalise strategy with outstanding oral and written communication skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Previous experience in a ‘Third Party’ managed campus collaboration between a private education provider and a university partner (desirable).
