Financial Accountant

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team in Smeaton Grange, New South Wales. In this permanent, full-time role within the manufacturing and production industry, you will play a crucial part in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. Your expertise will contribute to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of our business.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses to identify trends and variances.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary tax returns.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights to management.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
• Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Provide financial advice and support to management and other departments as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
• CPA or CA qualified (or equivalent).
• Strong Xero or accounting/ERP experience.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
