Full-time | 3 Month Contract | SCHADS Award Level 4 ($44.58 – $47.97 p/hr)

We are seeking an experienced Rostering Officer for a 3 month fixed term contract to support our 24/7 domestic, family and sexual violence support services. Working collaboratively with the broader organisation, you will quickly establish and manage effective, sustainable rosters aligned with service demand and employee wellbeing.

You will confidently allocate resources across multiple service lines, coordinate off phone activities such as meetings, and provide responsive, compassionate support to staff roster enquiries. This role also involves real-time roster monitoring and same day adjustments to meet service delivery needs.

Role requirements

  1. Minimum 2 years experience in a rostering/workforce planning role.
  2. Experience using rostering, workforce management or scheduling systems
  3. Strong computer literacy, including intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  4. Proven organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  5. Well‑developed problem‑solving skills, including the ability to resolve last‑minute roster changes, unplanned absences and coverage gaps.
  6. Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with employees and leaders.
  7. Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  8. Collaborative team player with a customer‑service mindset.
  9. Resilient, proactive and solutions‑focused.
  10. The role requires a commitment to working from the office for the duration of the contract.

Highly Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) or similar.
  • Exposure to industries with complex or 24/7 rostering environments (e.g. social and community services, call centres or emergency services) is highly desirable.
