Production Operators – Broadmeadows (Casual)

Duties:

The Production Operator role at Broadmeadows is an essential position within the business to ensure that our customers’ requirements are met; legislative requirements are adhered to; production is within specification; good manufacturing practices are adhered to and that staff carry out their job tasks with competence and accuracy. Food safety and product quality are always front of mind.

Responsibilities:

• Follow directions from the Production Supervisor so that our production program meets our customer’s needs in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all products, processes, and ingredients are handled with care using Good Manufacturing Practices and in accordance with appropriate Food Quality programs.
• Ensure that relevant Dangerous Goods regulations are complied with (in conjunction with the Project and Quality Coordinator)
• Keep appropriate records such as Batch Sheets to ensure quality and HACCP compliance.
• Work as a team member, giving assistance and motivation to other members of the team.
• Proactively become familiar with Company procedures and requirements, as well as the individual requirements of other employees and of our customers.
• Be involved with continuous improvements
• Operate production equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
• Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Always adhere to company policies and regulations.
• Take reasonable care of their own health and safety to ensure that their actions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others.
• Cooperate with and comply with any instructions, policies, or procedures related to health or safety in the workplace that have been communicated to workers.

• English proficiency skills, both written and oral
• Customer oriented and trouble shooting skills to adapt/respond to different types of production challenges
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive and ability to use your initiative
• High attention to detail
• Must be able to lift 15 kgs regularly and perform manual tasks
• Current Forklift License advantageous
