About the role
Our Demand Planner’s manage inventory planning across the relevant brands/SKU’s within their portfolio for Directed in Australia and New Zealand. This is achieved by working closely with the sales team to ensure all retail sales channels’ stock demands are managed accurately, understanding all promo activity/seasonality which allows us to order stock to the correct levels, using analytics and trend analysis to ensure the business has strong fill rate levels, whilst minimising excess stock levels and avoiding stock out periods. The is a highly dynamic role, given how electronics products continually change within the market.
Meet your new team
Our Demand Planning team strives to ensure that product flow into the business is in line with the sales plans of the business, maximising stock turns, while managing total stock level KPI’s to ensure we have no loss of sales. Amongst the team we have many highly skilled Demand Planners, who are all motivated, fun, strong communicators and very supportive of each other. You will be joining a growing team that is continuously refining our approach and use effective insights for forecasting.
How you will make an impact
Success in the Demand Planner role will be measured by achieving set KPI’s around inventory levels, demand accuracy, fill rates, limiting stock-outs and maximising stock turns. This will see you:
- maintaining accurate inventory forecast across all brands including completing monthly demand reviews, looking at forward 12-month projections across all brands/SKUs.
- develop and conduct regular demand review sessions across all Sales Managers and BDM’s.
- have responsibility for maintaining an accurate forecast across all brands.
- inventory planning for retailer promotional activity rolling 12-months.
- complete weekly order approvals across key stakeholders.
- maximising stock turns across our key lines and minimizing potential lost sales.
- conduct monthly Sales and Demand Reviews meetings for all key stakeholders to understand what the budget/demand/actuals have been in the past month and the key upcoming deliverables.
- complete continual Aged/Excess Stock review and plans around clearance activity.
- implementing purchasing plans to move through EOL/Obsolete inventory to avoid Aged Inventory SOH position.
- manage communication with overseas key contacts and the factories for supply planning.
- ensuring ETD/ETA listed against PO are managed to those dates and both factory/forwarders have provided all relevant documentation.
The successful candidate
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in similar Demand & Supply planning role, demonstrating the ability to review and analyse data alongside a strong sense of intellect and ‘instinctive feel’. Additionally, you will demonstrate:
- minimum 5+ years in previous a demand planning role forecasting for multiple channels
- demand planning accurately for fast moving products that are regularly EOL/superseded.
- managing an annual portfolio upwards of $20M.
- inventory planning looking at forward 12-month projections, working with multiple suppliers or brands.
- knowledge in data analytics, building a suite of reports for numerous departments.
- an understanding of trend analysis and seasonality.
- exceptional communication skills and having engaged with numerous departments e.g. sales, accounts, e-commerce, DC/warehouse etc.
- expert level knowledge of a demand planning systems and MS Office.
- being a team player who collaborates, sharing ideas and learning from your colleagues.
- an interest in consumer electronics goods with evolving products and a growing range.
