This position acts as a point of contact and liaison with the community, regulatory authorities and the media. This position also assists with public communication and with the preparation of information and relationship building of Degnan projects.
Qualifications and Experience
• Professional Qualification – Marketing / Media / Communications Degree or similar
• Construction Industry Induction Card
• Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe suite of programs
• Related experience, preferably in a construction/engineering environment
• Demonstrate knowledge of a broad range of communications activities – media, publications, marketing, social media, events, etc.
• Proven and demonstrable experience of working with a wide range of media, developing media strategies and relations, preparing press releases, etc.
• Proven and demonstrable experience of editing and producing publications/content.
• Experience working with e-communications

Position Requirements
• Assists manager with implementation of community involvement obligations
• Supports to the development of speeches, oversees video productions, writes media releases, brochures, newsletters, and various other publications in relation to projects
• Coordinates community information sessions, forums, meetings and events in relation to projects
• Responds to telephone calls and written complaints and undertakes investigations of such complaints
• Discusses project issues to concerned community and residents
• Keeps up to date with community attitudes on a wide range of issues affecting projects and advises and assists project leads on the best ways to present the project to the public
• Communicates between employers and employees to facilitate community attitudes and concerns
• Presents the best image of the project and Degnan when it is dealing with complaints and issues
• Writes notifications, letters and other collateral
• Coordinates letterbox drops and the printing of notifications in relation to projects
• Doorknocking and phone calls
• Manages enquiries and complaints in line with Degnan procedure
• Required to be on call in the event of a community incident or issue. (shared responsibility)
• Ensures that all written correspondence complies with Degnan and project procedures
• Files written information in accordance with Degnan and project procedures
• Ensures that files are handled appropriately to ensure the security and confidentiality of their contents and filed at the correct locations
• Inputs and maintains correspondence register
• Prepare regular reports in document listed activities
• Development of project infographics using Adobe suite
• Ensure that all documentation is transmitted in accordance with the project guidelines
• Plan and schedule own work to meet required timelines and outputs understanding requirements and clarifying as appropriate
• Manage own work schedule to ensure the efficient controlling of project documentation and that all tasks are completed within specified timeframes
• Maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of project management team and external stakeholders
• Liaise with all relevant project employees to ensure the most up to date documentation is being used for construction communications
