About the Role

The Head of Operations is CSB’s commercial engine room, driving cross-functional performance and operational excellence across Data, Trade, E-commerce and Business Operations. You are the architect of systems, insights, and cadence that keep the business executing at pace; translating strategy into disciplined, measurable delivery.

Your remit spans the full operating ecosystem: build and govern the data and reporting architecture and drive commercial performance through trade and e-commerce optimisation. You’ll bring structure to ambiguity; embedding standardisation, automation, and accountability across how the business measures, decides, and delivers.

You will act as the connective tissue between departments, ensuring decision velocity and commercial visibility through rigorous reporting, operational governance, and stakeholder alignment. This role is about commercial rigour, operational precision, and systems leadership. You’ll stabilise the engine room, unlock new efficiencies, and create the frameworks that enable CSB to scale sustainably toward our FY30 strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Data, Insights & Reporting

  • Govern the data lake and reporting architecture, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and reliability of all core business metrics.
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards and scorecards across all departments.
  • Partner with Finance to implement automated, real-time reporting that reduces manual touchpoints and lag in commercial insight.
  • Lead continuous data audits and establish clear data ownership protocols across departments.
  • Translate insights into clear commercial actions, embedding data-led decision-making into every business cadence (MBR, QBR, etc).

Trade

  • Lead E-commerce trade planning, aligning campaigns, product drops, and promotional cadence with demand forecasts and inventory flow.
  • Manage collaboration between Ecom, Brand, and Product to deliver best-in-class digital activations.
  • Partner with agencies to improve conversion rate, AOV, and session value.
  • Establish clear trade reporting and analysis to drive actionable insights.
  • Execute BFCM, Peak, and Product Launch playbooks with precision and operational readiness.

Ecommerce Operations

  • Oversee site functionality, UX/UI performance, and uptime in collaboration with front-end and platform partners.
  • Govern inventory accuracy, order routing, and fulfilment logic between ERP, Shopify, and 3PL systems.
  • Ensure seamless cross-system data flow (product, customer, order) and proactively resolve integration issues.
  • Lead post-implementation governance of ERP system, ensuring accountability to ROI.

Business Operations

  • Partner with the Ops Lead: Trade and Business, overseeing the CSB Operating Cadence — MBRs, QBRs, Strategic Initiatives — ensuring on-time delivery and executive discipline.
  • Partner with CEO and Finance to manage operational budgets, OPEX discipline, and cost optimisation.
  • Champion continuous improvement and process standardisation across all business functions.
  • Govern strategic project delivery (e.g., system implementations, efficiency programs).
  • Build operational resilience through clear documentation, playbooks, and accountability frameworks.
  • Own the design and performance of the Operations function, setting structure, accountabilities and standards for CSB’s end-to-end operating model (people, process, tools).
  • Own operational risk, compliance and business continuity, ensuring key risks are identified, mitigations in place, and contingency plans tested and documented.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
  • 8–12+ years’ experience in operations, e-commerce, or commercial leadership roles, ideally within high-growth consumer or digital retail environments.
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce and operational performance drivers, including conversion, inventory, fulfilment, customer lifecycle, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong technical and systems fluency across e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify), ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP), and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), with an understanding of integrations and scalable infrastructure.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to manage P&L drivers, optimise costs, and use data to inform strategic and operational decisions.
  • Proven experience building, scaling, or optimising operating models, systems, and processes in fast-growing businesses.
  • Exceptional execution capability, with a track record of translating strategy into clear operational plans and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives across operations, technology, and commercial teams.
  • Strong leadership capability, with experience building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Highly structured, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to bring clarity, accountability, and momentum in fast-paced environments.
