We’re currently seeking an experienced and strategic wellbeing leader to lead Cricket Victoria’s wellbeing and performance support across our Male, Female and Pathway programs. 

This is a unique opportunity to shape and embed a high performance wellbeing environment that supports player development, psychological safety, performance and personal growth across the Cricket Performance system. 

Working closely with coaches, Player Development Managers and multidisciplinary support staff, you’ll play a key leadership role in delivering integrated wellbeing support, sport psychology services and player development strategies across elite cricket programs. 

The Role 

Reporting to the General Manager Cricket Performance, the Head of Player Wellbeing & Performance will lead and oversee Cricket Victoria’s wellbeing strategy, systems and support services across our elite cricket programs. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Leading the development and delivery of Cricket Victoria’s wellbeing strategy across Male, Female and Pathway programs
  • Providing strategic sport psychology leadership and direct wellbeing support across high performance environments Delivering individual and group wellbeing and performance sessions focused on developing the psychological capacity for success 
  • Partnering with coaches and support staff to strengthen team culture, player engagement and wellbeing practices 
  • Leading and supporting the Player Development Management function across Male and Female programs 
  • Coordinating wellbeing systems, case management approaches and referral pathways across Cricket Performance programs 
  • Supporting players experiencing wellbeing challenges and coordinating appropriate interventions and external clinical referrals where required 
  • Collaborating with Cricket Australia wellbeing networks and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with national frameworks and best practice environments 

About You 

You are a collaborative and experienced wellbeing professional who can build trusted relationships across high performance environments. You bring a balance of strategic thinking, emotional intelligence and practical delivery, with the ability to influence and support a wide range of stakeholders. 

You’ll bring: 

  • 5+ years as a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and AHPRA 
  • Experience working within elite sport and/or high performance environments 
  • Demonstrated training and service delivery in sport/performance psychology 
  • Strong understanding of athlete wellbeing, mental health and performance environments 
  • Leadership experience in program design, implementation and stakeholder management 
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills 
  • The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary high performance teams 
  • A current Victorian Working with Children Check 

Highly regarded: 

  • Endorsement in Clinical Psychology, Sport & Exercise Psychology, Counselling Psychology or related field 
  • Experience leading wellbeing strategy within elite sporting environments 
  • Experience managing staff and/or multidisciplinary wellbeing programs 
  • Understanding of athlete transition, safeguarding and player development frameworks
