About the Role

Are you passionate about youth development and the power of sport to change lives? Creating Chances is seeking a dynamic Head Facilitator & School and Community Engagement Coordinator to lead our programs in the New England region.

In this hybrid role, you will be the face of Creating Chances in the community. You will facilitate high-quality youth programs, mentor a team of casual facilitators, and drive school and community engagement to grow our impact across Tamworth, Armidale, and Gunnedah.

Creating Chances is a leading for-purpose social enterprise. Born from a joint initiative between Football United, UNSW, and the Rugby Youth Foundation, we deliver evidence-based positive youth development programs using sport.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Facilitation & Leadership

  • Plan and deliver high-energy, engaging sessions tailored to youth from diverse and disengaged backgrounds.
  • Mentor, supervise, and coordinate a team of facilitators to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Manage on-the-ground resources, equipment, and session reporting.

2. School & Community Engagement

  • Promote Creating Chances programs to local schools, community groups, and stakeholders to drive interest and sales in the region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school principals, teachers, and community leaders.
  • Manage stakeholder tracking and agreements via our CRM.

3. Coordination & Administration

  • Work with the Operations team to schedule school programs and allocate facilitators term-by-term.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, feedback, and outcomes using Google Suite.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Child Safeguarding and WHS policies.

About You

To succeed in this role, you are adaptable, organized, and deeply committed to empowering young people.

Essential Criteria:

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in community/social work, education, sport management, or related areas.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience coaching or working with children and young people (ages 8–25) from diverse backgrounds.

Skills: Strong time management, attention to detail, and “tech-savvy” (proficient in Google Sheets/Docs, Excel, Word).

Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to network with schools and mentor staff.

Certifications:

  • Current NSW Working with Children Check (Paid).
  • First Aid & CPR.
  • Right to Work in Australia.

Desirable:

  • Experience in supervisor roles or school engagement/sales.
  • Knowledge of Canva and Slack.
