Summary:

We are seeking a talented Documentary and Story Telling Filmmaker to join our dynamic media team in Melbourne. This contract / part-time role is essential for creating compelling documentary and TVC style content (Think Nike brand stories) that engages our audience and enhances our brand presence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in documentary filmmaking and a passion for storytelling through visual media.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop documentary concepts from initial idea to final production.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute documentary shoots, including location scouting and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with writers, editors, and other production staff to ensure a cohesive narrative.
  • Manage all aspects of production, including equipment setup, lighting, and sound.
  • Conduct interviews and gather footage that aligns with the documentary’s vision.
  • Edit and assemble footage into a polished final product, ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Engage with audiences through social media and other platforms to promote documentary releases.
  • Analyse viewer feedback and metrics to improve future documentary projects.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in documentary filmmaking, preferably in a media environment.
  • Ability to define and follow editorial guidelines inline with brand and NDIS legal frameworks
  • Strong understanding of video production techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a single camera person / run and gun environment.
  • Ability to collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and audience engagement strategies.
