an active role in the development and licensing of best-in-class biotechnology traits that address key industry challenges and improve the competitiveness of Australian cotton.

The opportunity

We are seeking a Seed Increase Agronomist to support the planning and delivery of high-quality cotton seed crops across our seed increase program. Working closely with growers, contractors and internal teams, you will ensure crops are managed safely and in line with quality assurance, certification and regulatory requirements, contributing to improved seed quality, productivity and efficiency for Australian cotton growers.

This position is based onsite at Wee Waa Wee Waa NSW and reports to the Seed Increase Manager under Pastoral Award conditions.

Key responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Support seed crop planning, including area assessments, and liaise with growers on planting areas and variety allocations
  • Assist with coordination and (as required) auditing of seed crops across all production stages: Pre-planting, planting, in-crop, picking/modules/transport, ginning/seed transport, and delivery of planting seed
  • Collate reports and maintain accurate records on crop progress including **maturity, yield and disease
  • Liaise with seed increase growers & contractors to coordinate logistics and timing of planting, picking, ginning and seed intake.
  • Undertake testing/monitoring required under relevant regulatory licences for commercial seed crops.
  • Provide practical support to the Seed Increase & Farm Lead in cotton crop production activities as required.

  • Current Driver’s License
  • The physical capability and mental aptitude to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
