Mercado is on the hunt for a passionate and reliable Cook / Kitchen Team Member to join our crew. We serve authentic food with traditional flavours and are on a mission to create a new experience in hospitality with a strong focus on breakfast, inspired by Mexican cuisine.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in every plate, and wants to be part of this creative journey.
Your Role:
- Prepare food to Mercado standards — fast, fresh, consistent
- Run smooth breakfast and lunch service operations
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures
- Assist with stocktake and prep list planning
- Prepare food to Costa Taco standards — fast, fresh, consistent
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen throughout your shift
- Restock service stations (grill, pass, bain-marie) as needed
- Follow food safety protocols — temp logs, sanitising, HACCP
- Support inventory and stock rotation procedures
- Complete shift reports and communicate effectively with the team
What You Bring:
- Breakfast experience (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, speed, initiative, and cleanliness.
- Passion for food and consistency.
- Team player with a positive attitude and work ethic.
- Ability to comply with systems
