About the role
As the HAY Store Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of our HAY retail showroom, ensuring an exceptional customer experience while driving sales performance and team engagement. You will be hands-on in the showroom, leading by example, nurturing client relationships, and maintaining the high visual and service standards that HAY is known for.
This role is ideal for a confident retail leader with a passion for design, people and premium customer experiences.
How you will contribute
– Leading, motivating and developing the retail team to deliver outstanding customer service
– Managing day-to-day store operations including rostering, sales performance and reporting
– Consulting with retail clients and providing tailored product solutions
– Building and maintaining strong relationships with repeat clients and design professionals
– Driving sales through excellent product knowledge and proactive client engagement
– Ensuring exceptional visual merchandising standards in line with HAY brand guidelines
– Managing stock, inventory control and ordering processes
– Overseeing quotes, sales orders and follow-up of client enquiries
– Maintaining a strong sense of pride and ownership in the presentation and performance of the store

About you
– Proven experience as a Retail Manager or Assistant Manager (premium or design retail preferred)
– Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team
– A passion for design, interiors and contemporary furniture
– Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills
– Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
– Confident balancing hands-on sales with operational and administrative tasks
– A proactive, positive and solutions-focused mindset
Remuneration is based on experience.
