About Us

Container Exchange (COEX) is the not‑for‑profit organisation responsible for operating and growing Queensland’s Containers for Change refund scheme. Since launching in 2018, we’ve kept more than 11 billion containers out of landfill and returned over $1 billion in refunds to Queenslanders, making Containers for Change one of the state’s most impactful environmental initiatives.

Our purpose is to create a better world through our environmental, social and economic impact, and ensure no container goes to waste.
