About Connect Children and Families

At Connect, we walk alongside families to support their children’s learning, wellbeing and safety. As a not-for-profit organisation, we’re deeply rooted in the Blue Mountains, Lithgow, Hawkesbury and Western Sydney communities — working across early education, family support, and community services.

Our values guide everything we do: Tune In. Connect. Be Kind. Walk Together. Celebrate Every Child.

About Hazelwood ECC

Hazelwood ECC is part of Connect Children and Families. We recently transitioned to specialise exclusively in education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 3 years, with children transitioning to Connect’s Possum ECC for the 3–5 years program.

We focus on creating nurturing, respectful environments where infants and toddlers feel safe to explore, grow, and develop with confidence. Our educators form strong, secure relationships with children and design purposeful spaces that foster independence, curiosity and holistic development.

Our practice is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including:

  • Circle of Security – Classroom
  • BrainSET design
  • The Family Partnership Model

We are also engaged in practitioner research to develop a unique pedagogy tailored specifically for the birth–3 age group.
