Common Equity Housing Ltd (CEHL) provides long-term secure housing to people with low-income backgrounds who may find full market rent unaffordable. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Tenancy Coordinator to join our team.

We manage a portfolio of more than 2,000 housing properties through Victoria and partner with over 90 housing co-ops to provide safe, secure and affordable housing to 5,000 co-op members, renters and the broader community. ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will manage the tenancy inspections across the CEHL property portfolio, including all inspection scheduling, administration, and undertaking of property inspection across Victoria. In addition, you will support the Tenancy Team to complete a range of tenancy management functions, that may include arrears management and the preparation and attendance to VCAT.

ABOUT YOU

This position is ideal for a motivated, experienced and highly organised property management professional. You will enjoy being on the road, meeting CEHL renters and completing comprehensive, thorough and detailed inspection reports. You will be comfortable working autonomously but will also enjoy the opportunity to work with and support the broader Tenancy team.

You will also have:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in tenancy management, including conducting inspections, arrears and VCAT.
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret relevant legal requirements and compliance regulations (i.e. VCAT processes, Residential Tenancies Act (Vic), Housing Act 1983 etc.)
  • Experience attending VCAT hearings and demonstrated knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act
  • General understanding of the goals and operations of CEHL and the community housing sector in Victoria.
  • Experience working with community based or membership-based organisations is preferred.
