CODA Disability Support Assoc. Inc was established in 1989 and is a NDIS registered, not-for-profit organisation. CODA is an organisation that prides itself on the work we do and supports we provide which include – 24/7 accommodation and SIL support; STA and holiday support; Community participation supports; Plan Management and Support Coordination services to adults with a disability living in the extended Brisbane, Ipswich and Bayside areas.

We are proud of the work we do and the positive impact our workforce has on the lives of the people we support. To strengthen this impact, we are seeking a capable and motivated Human Resource Advisor to join our growing HR team on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the HR Manager, this is a hands-on, operational generalist role that plays a critical part in supporting managers and employees across the organisation. You will act as a trusted resource, providing practical HR guidance, coordinating key people processes, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated, industrial environment.

This role is ideal for a HR professional who enjoys working across diverse HR functions and thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven setting.

About the Role

As Human Resource Advisor, you will support the full employee lifecycle and contribute to building a compliant, engaged and high-performing workforce. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing practical advice and support to managers on employment relations matters, including award interpretation and day-to-day people management queries

  • Supporting performance management processes, including probation reviews, improvement plans, and disciplinary procedures

  • Drafting and issuing employment documentation, including contracts, variations, and formal correspondence

  • Coordinating recruitment processes from advertising through to onboarding and compliance checks

  • Assisting with payroll-related queries, award application, and rostering considerations under the SCHADS Award

  • Maintaining HR compliance registers, employee records, and mandatory training requirements

  • Supporting HRIS administration, data integrity, reporting, and system improvements

  • Contributing to workforce engagement initiatives and positive workplace culture

  • Ensuring adherence to Fair Work legislation, National Employment Standards, and NDIS regulatory requirements

This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to balance responsiveness with compliance in a dynamic service environment.

What You Will Bring

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a generalist HR role

  • Practical experience supporting managers with performance management and employment relations matters

  • Sound understanding of the Fair Work Act and confidence interpreting modern awards, particularly the SCHADS Award

  • Experience coordinating recruitment processes end-to-end

  • Exposure to payroll processes and award application

  • Experience maintaining compliance registers and employee documentation

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism

  • Experience using HRIS and Microsoft 365 systems

Additional Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline (or working towards) preferred

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Card (Yellow Card) or willingness to obtain

  • Queensland Driver’s Licence

  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete)
