About the Role 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive NDIS Payments Support Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing NDIS claims, matching payments against submitted claims and bank records, and supporting the timely collection of outstanding invoices. You will also be responsible for following up on outstanding claims, using your knowledge of NDIS participant invoicing, plan management, and bulk billing processes. This will involve liaising with key stakeholders, including plan managers, and using external portals to ensure the timely and successful collection and receipting of funds. You will ensure compliance with NDIS requirements while maintaining clear and professional communication with internal teams, plan managers, and participants. 

This part-time, remote role provides the opportunity to contribute to a supportive, dynamic team while making a real impact in the NDIS sector. 

Key Responsibilities 

As our NDIS Payments Support Officer, your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Timely collection of outstanding claim invoices. 
  • Reviewing outstanding claims for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility, investigating discrepancies or missing payments, and liaising with plan managers, NDIA, and other stakeholders to resolve disputed or unpaid claims.  
  • Monitoring receivables daily, tracking progress of outstanding claims and taking steps required for timely collection of funds.  
  • Matching payments in bank against submitted claims, including bulk receipts in bank.  
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end processes 
  • Liaising professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to fulfill requirements of the role. 
  • Providing guidance on NDIS finance processes and maintaining strong working relationships 

Skills & Experience 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills: 

  • High level of accuracy and care in financial processing 
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex claims or payment issues 
  • Clear and professional communication with stakeholders 
  • Willingness to learn and improve processes 
  • Professional handling of sensitive financial information 
  • Strong team player, adaptable in a fast-paced environment 

Required Experience: 

  • Accounts receivable and collections experience, including reconciliation and managing outstanding balances 
  • Experience with NDIS billing and claims processing, including MyPlace/PRODA or similar systems 
  • Experience in managing NDIA-managed, plan-managed, and self-managed participant plans 
  • Understanding of service bookings, budgets, and funding utilisation 
  • Excel skills and financial reporting experience 
  • Effective communication with plan managers, participants, and internal teams 
  • Problem-solving for NDIS disputed or unpaid claims 
  • Positive stakeholder feedback and effective collaboration
