About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager, ideally with water industry design experience, to join our team of industry specialists. In this role you will play a key part in project delivery on a variety of long-term contracts for our valued clients – including Sydney Water, Melbourne Water, all three Melbourne metro water agencies, Barwon Water, and most regional Victorian water agencies, amongst others around Australia and New Zealand. This opportunity is to be based out of our Melbourne office, however given our recent expansion interstate and into New Zealand, we would be open to hearing from great candidates based in Perth, Brisbane or Wellington (NZ).
What will you do?
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Procure and manage subconsultants and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Oversee contract administration, including handling claims, variations, and other related tasks.
- Lead the tender, evaluation, and award process.
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate technical support during the design and construction phases.
- There is opportunity for a PM with a water engineering design background to take on design management responsibilities on projects as well.
- Opportunity to have input into the strategic direction of CMP into the future by drawing on your experience, knowledge and contacts in the industry.
About You
We would like you to bring a consultative approach, with an ability to prioritise your work and get things done with a ‘can do’ attitude – and to enjoy what you do, like we do. Ideally you will also possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related field.
- Qualification in project management highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, preferably in water infrastructure or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of contract management and project delivery processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong time and budget management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.
- Ability to demonstrated alignment with CMP values through previous working experiences.
