Principal Engineering Geologist – Lead, Innovate, Deliver

CGC is growing, and we’re looking for a Principal Engineering Geologist to join our team and help shape the future of geotechnical consulting in Queensland and beyond.

This is a senior technical leadership role offering diverse challenges across investigations, design, analysis, and construction-phase services. You’ll work on complex projects across our market sectors while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

What You’ll Do

• Provide market-leading engineering geological expertise across site investigations, analysis, interpretation, design, and advisory services.
• Lead projects from proposal through delivery, applying PMBoK principles.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development.
• Champion safety, quality, and innovation in all phases of project delivery.
• Mentor junior team members and drive technical excellence.

What We’re Looking For

• 15+ years’ experience in engineering geology and geotechnics.
• Extensive fieldwork and design experience across varied geological conditions.
• Accredited TMR SRA or RMS SRA v4.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge to guide projects and mentor junior staff.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Degree in Engineering Geology or equivalent; CGeol, RPGeo or similar accreditation.
• Rope Access (IRATA) Certification preferred
