Century Entertainment is seeking an experienced Comedy Promoter to identify, secure and deliver comedy tours and live performance projects across Australia.
Century Entertainment is part of the Century Venues Group, one of Australia’s leading live-entertainment organisations, operating iconic venues including the Enmore Theatre, Metro Theatre, Factory Theatre, The Comedy Store and The Concourse, and producing the Sydney Comedy Festival and Perth Comedy Festival.
About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Comedy Promoter to join the Century Entertainment team. Responsible for identifying and securing comedy tours across Australia, including national and regional touring, The Comedy Store international programming, and performances within the Sydney and Perth Comedy Festivals.
This is a key creative and commercial role within the business and will suit someone who is autonomous, well-connected, and deeply embedded in the comedy sector. You will have a strong understanding of artists, agents, and audience trends working alongside our Comedy Producers and Touring Coordinators, who will assist in the establishment, administration and delivery of tours and projects, allowing you to focus on deal-making and relationships.
Key responsibilities
• Identify and secure comedy tours and live projects across Century’s venue network
• Build and maintain strong relationships with comedians, agents and managers
• Negotiate commercial deals, budgets and contracts
• Program and advance shows at The Comedy Store and touring venues
• Curate and source content for Sydney Comedy Festival and Perth Comedy Festival
• Monitor tour performance and artist outcomes
• Collaborate with Marketing, Ticketing and Production teams
• Identify new talent and emerging comedy trends
About you
• Proven experience as a promoter, booker or presenter in live entertainment
• Strong focus or background in comedy highly regarded
• Demonstrated success delivering profitable tours or events
• Excellent industry relationships
• Commercially astute, autonomous and well organised
• Passionate about comedy and live performance
