The Learning and Development Engagement Lead is responsible for proactively engaging with clients to understand their workforce learning and development requirements, preparing proposals and funding submissions, supporting innovation programs and initiatives, and actively supporting strategic programs and projects. The Workforce Learning and Development (WLD) team is responsible for the development and delivery of accredited and non-accredited learning and development solutions.

Salary package: $80,000 – $90,000 per annum, (salary commensurate with experience) pro rata (0.8FTE) + regulated super contributions (12%) + tax reducing salary packaging

Position summary
The Learning and Development Engagement Lead will collaborate closely with the Manager – Strategic Engagement to lead the fee-for-service and customised solutions portfolio within the Workforce Learning and Development (WLD) team. This role is key in positioning the Centre as the provider of choice for workforce learning and development solutions across the sector and is responsible for:
- Building and maintaining a deep understanding of sector needs, priorities, and emerging trends.
- Identifying and nurturing a pipeline of business development opportunities.
- Designing and delivering targeted marketing initiatives to promote offerings.
- Engaging effectively with clients to qualify leads and develop tailored proposals that meet their needs.
- Securing sales and fostering long-term client relationships. And
- Overseeing the development and implementation of systems and processes that ensure a seamless customer experience and uphold operational compliance.
Key accountabilities
- Effectively manage the WLD fee-for-service/customised sales cycle and adhere to the sales decision process.
- Develop and implement relevant sales and marketing programs and initiatives
- Build strong relationships with sector and allied sector representatives.
- Respond to all client enquiries in a personable and timely manner and work with Centre colleagues to develop appropriate learning and development proposals and solutions.
- Negotiate and finalise contracts to delivery stage.
- Track sector trends and gaps to inform WLD unit priorities and identify new focus areas.
- Consult with clients through structured feedback mechanisms.
- Identify relevant business development opportunities for the Centre with non-members and allied workforces (e.g. in the health and homelessness sectors).
- Co-develop funding submissions where applicable.
- Prepare relevant reports to reflect and inform operational insights.
- Develop and implement relevant operational processes and procedures, and
- Support innovation programs and other strategic projects.
Key selection criteria
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate their ability to meet the following criteria:
Essential
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Proven sales, marketing and/or business development experience.
- Experience or exposure to child, youth, and family services and/or the community service sector.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a marketing strategy and to promote existing products, identify new opportunities and acquire new sources of income.
- Demonstrated capacity to initiate and manage workflows within tight timelines, with an attention to detail.
- Demonstrated comfort with technology and proficiency with sales management software and CRM (or ability to learn).
Qualifications and requirements
- A relevant qualification and/or experience within sales/ marketing/ business development
- Experience in the community services and/or not-for-profit sector
