Senior Electrical Power Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to join our growing Brisbane office. This is a “real engineering” role focused on high-level power system stability and HV/LV infrastructure. As a key member of our national team of 90+ professionals, you will handle iconic projects that shape Australia’s energy future—from large-scale BESS installations to complex mining reticulation.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

• Utilise advanced platforms like ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or SafeGrid for load flow, fault level, and protection coordination studies.
• Lead the detailed design of HV and LV reticulation, including switchrooms, MCCs, kiosks, and transformers.
• Design and model earthing and lightning protection systems, including step and touch potential modelling.
• Lead technical delivery for renewables and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Perform rigorous arc flash hazard analysis and develop mitigation recommendations for site safety.
• Prepare and submit professional reports, drawings and other deliverables to meet the needs of Cell, our clients and regulatory bodies etc.

What You Will Bring to the Role

• A degree or advanced diploma in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of proven experience in power system analysis.
• Extensive knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS3008, AS2067, and AS1768.
• Must be RPEQ-registered or eligible for registration with Engineers Australia.
• A commitment to the “open book” methodology, ensuring transparency and trust with clients and team members.
