About the role:
The Mediation Services Team Leader is accountable for overseeing, supporting and guiding the quality practice of Mediation Services Team staff across the service delivery area, whilst ensuring all staff adhere to legislative and funding requirements. The role is accountable for ensuring that the Mediation Services Team fulfills the deliverables specified in the funding agreement, in accordance with legislative, funding, and organisational guidelines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily operations and service delivery;
- Managing and supporting team members;
- Ensuring compliance with funding and service delivery;
- Engaging with community stakeholders and service providers; and
- Building awareness of the service in the community through networking and service promotion.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory:
- Tertiary qualification in Counselling, Law, Management or a related field;
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a leadership position within Social Services or a community organisation; and
- Current C class Driver’s license (QLD).
Desirable:
- Postgraduate study in a relevant field; and
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working in relevant Human Services Programs.
Core Competencies
- Substantial ability to develop and manage a social services program including strategic planning, goal setting, and operational oversight;
- Substantial experience in team leadership, with a strong track record of guiding teams to successfully achieve objectives and meet targets;
- High level of knowledge and skills to devise, monitor and review program financial performance against approved budget;
- High level of both verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to apply them effectively in practice;
- Demonstrated commit to maintaining high quality professional service delivery;
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
