About the Role
As a Dementia Education Facilitator, you will play a key role in building the capability of carers, staff, and community members to support people living with dementia.
You will design and deliver high-quality, evidence-informed education that strengthens knowledge, confidence, and resilience in dementia care.
Key responsibilities include:
🔹 Designing and delivering group and individual education using adult learning principles
🔹Tailoring education to meet the needs of carers, staff, volunteers, and community members
🔹Applying inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practices
🔹Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders
🔹Monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness and driving continuous improvement
🔹Using digital tools and platforms to support education delivery and evaluation
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
🔹Minimum 3 years’ experience in education, training, facilitation, or health promotion within health, aged care, or community services
🔹CHCAGE011 – Provide Support to People Living with Dementia (or willingness to obtain)
🔹Current Queensland C Class Driver’s Licence
Desirable:
🔹 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122)
🔹 Certificate or Diploma in Community Services, Health, Education, or a related field
You will also demonstrate:
🔹Experience designing and delivering education for diverse audiences using best-practice adult learning methods
🔹Strong understanding of dementia, carer needs, and community-based care approaches
🔹A genuine passion for dementia care and commitment to ongoing learning
🔹Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
🔹Skills in evaluating programs and applying continuous improvement
🔹High ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality
🔹Confidence using digital platforms to deliver and evaluate education
