  • About the role
  • As a Disability Support Worker, you’ll be an important part of someone’s journey toward independence and social connection.
  • You’ll mainly work across Newcastle and surrounds, with occasional shifts in the Lake Macquarie and Lower Hunter regions.
  • This role includes:
    • Supporting participants in daily routines, community access, and capacity‑building activities
    • Building practical life skills and supporting friendships and social participation
    • Assisting with job readiness career planning, workplace skills, and interview preparation
    • Creating safe, inclusive, and empowering environments where participants feel confident and in control
    • Working across a mix of 1:1 supports, small groups, and community‑based activities helping individuals connect, grow, and thrive.
  • What You’ll Bring
  • We welcome experienced support workers and people new to the industry. You’ll receive hands‑on training and ongoing guidance.
  • Preferred (but not essential):
    • Cert III in Community Services, Disability, Youth Work, or similar
    • Experience supporting people with a disability
    • Understanding of the NDIS and person‑centred practice
    • Strong attention to detail and confidence in maintaining accurate documentation
    • Flexibility to support participants across varied times and settings
  • Essential:
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Completion of the ‘Quality, Safety & You’ module from the NDIS Commission.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable private transport
  • Alignment with Castle’s Vision, Purpose, and Values
