Carlile Swim is seeking an experienced and people focused Swim School Manager to lead our Wavell Heights swim school.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will guide and inspire your team while delivering an exceptional learn to swim experience for families in your community.

About Us

Carlile Swim is committed to leading the industry and enriching the communities we serve across more than 30 swim schools nationwide. We have been a world leader in aquatic education for almost 80 years.

Forbes Carlile was Australia’s first Olympic swimming coach, and his wife Ursula was the only woman to be Head Coach of the Australian Swimming Team. Both are recognised in the International Swimming Hall of Fame. Carlile founded Australia’s first commercial swim school, built the first indoor teaching pool for toddlers, and pioneered teaching babies to swim.

Today, Carlile Swim continues this legacy of innovation and excellence. Following the rebrand of Brisbane based Aquatic Achievers and the inclusion of Perth’s leading swim school Kirby Swim, our group now delivers more than two and a half million lessons across Australia each year.

The Opportunity

The Swim School Manager, supported by the Carlile Support Office, leads and inspires a great team that delivers exceptional experiences every day through a world renowned program that helps children learn to swim well and love the water.

You will be the leader of your swim school, responsible for customer and team satisfaction, growth in bookings, and the efficient delivery of an outstanding learn to swim program.

You will lead a team of full time, permanent part time and casual staff, building a culture where team members enjoy coming to work and where success naturally follows.

Key Responsibilities

In this hands on leadership role you will:

  • Teach and supervise lessons
  • Work with the team to recruit new swim teachers and support their development through coaching and training
  • Manage staff and provide leadership through regular training and team meetings
  • Help build and promote Carlile Swim by developing partnerships with local community groups
  • Oversee and lead a busy swim school through clear and effective communication

What You Bring

You are a people first leader who understands that strong culture drives strong results.

You will bring:

  • The ability to lead, coach and motivate a team
  • Strong managerial skills with excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to quickly understand and deliver the Carlile Program
  • Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to liaise with students and parents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ideally, But Not Essential

  • Knowledge of swimming industry practices and teaching principles
  • Understanding of swim schools and their role in helping children develop water safety and confidence

Essential Requirements

  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children Check or Blue Card

Desirable

  • Qualified Swim Teacher
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current Provide or Perform CPR
