The Role
The Finance Wellbeing Officer is responsible for providing financial wellbeing support to employees,
clients, and community members through practical advice, education, and assistance with budgeting, debt management, and access to available financial resources. The role is designed to enhance financial literacy, reduce financial stress, and promote overall wellbeing. In addition, the Finance Wellbeing Officer contributes to building sector capacity by supporting initiatives that address financial hardship, ensuring individuals who are vulnerable, at risk, or currently experiencing financial difficulties have the tools and guidance needed to achieve improved financial resilience and stability.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide confidential financial wellbeing support, including budget assistance, debt management strategies, and guidance on financial planning.
- Develop and deliver financial literacy workshops and information sessions.
- Assist clients/employees in accessing government entitlements, grants, and community financial support services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial assistance programs, superannuation, tax, and relevant legislation.
- Collaborate with HR, finance, and wellbeing teams to ensure holistic support services.
- Manage and maintain accurate case notes, records, and reporting in line with organisational policies.
- Identify trends in financial stress and contribute to initiatives that promote long-term financial resilience
- Uphold confidentiality, privacy, and ethical standards in all interactions
What we are looking for
- Timely and accurate delivery of financial wellbeing services.
- Have hands-on experience in collaborating with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Empathy and understanding
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
- Effective computer skills (Word processing, database, Internet, email)
- Demonstrated ability to apply a person centred or strength-based approach
- Experience negotiating with community-based organisations or group
- Willingness to travel
- Compliance with reporting, confidentiality, and organisational policies.
To be considered for the role, you will also need to meet the mandatory compliance requirements which includes:
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
- National Police Clearance (dated within 6 months or less)
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate
- NT Drivers License
- Evidence of Australian Work Rights (current visa or Australian Birth Certificate)
