Canteen is all about supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, we offer programs and resources that truly make a difference for 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or grieving. We are now seeking a Senior Evaluation and Insights Officer, who will play a pivotal role in planning, managing and delivering monitoring and evaluation activities that measure the impact of Canteen’s programs and services, with a strong focus on our Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs and services. - Base Salary + Superannuation + Not-For-Profit Salary Packaging (up to $18,550 of your salary tax-free).

About our role
- Lead meaningful impact evaluation across Canteen’s programs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, ensuring all methodologies are rigorous, ethical, and culturally responsive.
- Design and deliver high‑quality MEL frameworks, using both qualitative and quantitative data to generate insights that drive continuous improvement and inform strategic decision‑making.
- Manage end‑to‑end evaluation projects, from planning and scoping through to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Champion learning and knowledge sharing by translating evaluation findings into clear reports, practical recommendations, and engaging presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and diverse communities, building respectful relationships—particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders—to ensure evaluation activities are inclusive, transparent, and aligned with organisational goals.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in evaluation, social sciences, health sciences, behavioural science or a related field or relevant experience with evaluation methodology
- Specialist skills in outcomes and impact measurement, including developing program logics and MEL plans, with the ability to conduct evaluations using culturally safe and inclusive approaches.
- A highly motivated, adaptable team player with the ability to manage multiple projects independently, and a commitment to continuous learning and culturally safe, inclusive ways of working
- A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Employment Expectations
To ensure an ongoing commitment to the success of Canteen, all applications must be able to:
