The opportunity

Join our Accommodation Services team as an Administrative Assistant and be a welcoming first point of contact, creating a warm and professional experience for our guests.

Our two self-catering lodges provide a home away from home for regional cancer patients and their carers while they access treatment in the metro area offering safe, comfortable, motel-style accommodation with on-site support.

In this varied role, you’ll help keep operations running smoothly by assisting in day-to-day office activities and providing high-quality administrative support to our customer-facing team including but not limited to reception cover during leave and lunch breaks.

Based in Nedlands at Crawford lodge and at times in Shenton Park at Milroy Lodge this position is part time, 20 hours per week from Monday to Friday between the hours of 10:00am to 2:00pm.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide high-level reception and administrative support across accommodation services

• Warmly welcome guests and respond to queries promptly and efficiently

• Manage and maintain guest bookings

• Complete a range of administrative tasks accurately and on time

• Follow procedures and best practices with a strong focus on guest experience

• Assist with general financial administration tasks including but not limited to following up Purchase orders

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in office administration

• Previous experience in accommodation services environment (Desirable)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Confident engaging with people from diverse backgrounds

• Highly organised, detail-orientated, and proactive

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of Excel spreadsheets

• Able to work both independently and as part of a team

• Capable of meeting tight deadlines

• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA

• Positive approach to the workplace
