Hospitality Manager – Southbound

Southern Cross Club is seeking an experienced Hospitality Manager to lead Southbound, a flagship food and beverage offering at our Tuggeranong venue.
This role is accountable for the full operational, commercial, and people performance of Southbound, ensuring industry best-practice standards, strong financial outcomes, and an exceptional customer experience for members and guests.
Reporting to the Venue Manager, you will work closely with senior operational leaders, including the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage leadership, to deliver a contemporary, compliant, and commercially successful venue.
About the role
As Hospitality Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for the performance of Southbound, including operations, people leadership, compliance, and brand positioning. You will lead a high-performing team, drive sales and profitability, and ensure the venue consistently reflects the standards and reputation of the Southern Cross Club.
This role suits a hospitality leader who combines strong operational discipline with energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for food, beverage, and customer experience.

Key responsibilities
Leadership and culture
- Lead, motivate, and develop a unified service and management team
- Champion the Club’s vision and customer service culture
- Foster a solution-focused, inclusive, and high-performance team environment
Operations and commercial performance
- Manage daily restaurant operations to drive sales, profitability, and efficiency
- Oversee stock control, cash handling, merchandising, and cost management
- Deliver a contemporary, on-trend food and beverage offering in partnership with the kitchen team
Strategy and planning
- Implement operational and business plans aligned with agreed budgets and objectives
- Report on performance, risks, and variances to key stakeholders
- Ensure the right capability and talent is in place for long-term success
Governance and compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Liquor Act 2010, WHS requirements, and harm minimisation obligations
- Maintain incident, complaint, and patron registers
- Ensure safe, compliant environments for staff, members, and visitors
Sales, marketing, and brand
- Support sales and marketing initiatives that drive revenue and strengthen the CSCC brand
- Promote cross-collaboration with gaming, events, and other business units
- Maintain high presentation standards that reflect the image of the Club
About you
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, F&B Manager, Hotel Licensee, or equivalent senior hospitality role
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing budgets and performance
- An engaging leadership style across both front and back of house teams
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
- A genuine passion for food, beverage, ambience, and customer experience
- Sound understanding of marketing, social media, and hospitality trends
- Awareness of sustainability, wellbeing, food safety, and WHS obligations
