Key Responsibilities:
Safe Operation
• Drive and operate trucks following established safety standards and guidelines.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle’s mechanical fitness.
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations while maintaining a high level of situational awareness.
Cargo Management:
• Load and unload goods with attention to proper distribution and securing of the cargo.
• Verify and confirm the accuracy of shipping documents and manifests.
• Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.
Route Planning:
• Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules, considering factors such as traffic, weather, and road conditions.
• Utilize navigation systems and maps to ensure timely and safe deliveries.
Communication:
• Maintain regular communication with dispatchers and fellow drivers
• Report any incidents, accidents, or delays promptly to the appropriate authorities.
Vehicle Maintenance:
• Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and fluid levels.
• Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance department and follow repair procedures as needed.
Customer Service:
• Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, providing excellent customer service.
• Address customer inquiries or concerns courteously and efficiently.
Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation regulations, including but not limited to hours of service, weight restrictions, and licensing requirements.
Documentation:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including logbooks, fuel records, and delivery receipts.
• Complete required paperwork for customs, if applicable.
Qualifications:
• Valid MC driver’s license
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy items.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations effectively.
Experience:
• Previous experience as a truck driver is preferred, but entry-level candidates with the necessary qualifications will be considered.
Working Conditions:
• This position may require long hours (as per log book requirements), overnight stays, and work in various weather conditions.
