Parks and Gardens Crew Member

Burke Shire Council is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our Parks and Gardens team. We are recruiting for full time, part time and casual opportunities, and encourage applications from people interested in contributing to the presentation and maintenance of our community spaces.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a practical, hands-on team helping maintain Council’s parks, gardens, public facilities and community infrastructure.

About the role

Reporting to the Parks and Gardens Supervisor, this position assists with maintaining Council parks, gardens, open spaces, public conveniences and facilities to ensure Burketown remains clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Duties may include:

• General parks and gardens maintenance
• Cleaning of public amenities and Council facilities
• Grounds maintenance including mowing, whipper snipping and gardening
• Following safe work practices and Council WHS procedures

What we’re looking for

• A current C Class Driver Licence (essential)
• White Card (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work safely with minimal supervision
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• Ability to undertake physical outdoor work
