About the Role
We are seeking a Senior / Principal Civil Engineer to lead and deliver civil engineering projects from our Toowoomba office, from concept design through to construction. While the role does not need to be based in Toowoomba, regular travel to Toowoomba and project sites is essential. This role is pivotal to project success, combining strong technical leadership, client engagement, and commercial responsibility.
You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of Queensland private development projects, collaborating closely with clients, councils, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams, while mentoring junior engineers and supporting the continued growth of the business.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, manage, and deliver civil engineering projects from concept through to construction
- Lead the design of earthworks, roads, stormwater, water, and sewer infrastructure
- Review and oversee technical reports, design documentation, and project correspondence
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, with accountability for delivery and financial performance
- Collaborate with clients, councils, authorities, and internal teams to achieve successful outcomes
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, supporting their development
- Support business development through proposal writing, client relationships, and securing repeat work
About You
- Degree in Civil Engineering (RPEQ or working towards RPEQ highly regarded)
- 7+ years’ experience in civil design, project delivery, and stakeholder coordination
- Strong understanding of Queensland private development and local authority standards and approvals
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high‑quality outcomes on time and on budget
- Excellent communication skills with a client‑focused, long‑term partnership mindset
- Enjoy working in a supportive and collaborative team environment
- Values aligned with teamwork, quality solutions, accountability, results, and continuous improvement
- Strong working knowledge of civil design software such as 12D, AutoCAD, DRAINS, and MUSIC
