About the Role

Are you an experienced and innovative mental health professional ready to lead, inspire, and make a tangible difference in young people’s lives? As our Senior Mental Health Clinician you will deliver early intervention, evidence-based psychological support to young people experiencing a wide range of mild to moderate mental health challenges.

In this role, you won’t just manage a caseload you’ll bring creativity, assertiveness, and a youth-focused mindset to help young people seek help early and get the support they need. You’ll provide clinical supervision and guidance to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe, culturally responsive, and family-inclusive services that genuinely improve mental health and wellbeing outcomes.

You’ll shape the future of youth mental health by supporting staff development, mentoring students and graduates, and driving continuous improvement through evaluation, feedback, and innovation. Collaborating with external stakeholders and promoting Brophy across the region, you’ll be a key contributor to an integrated, high-performing service that puts young people at the centre of everything we do.

Do your skills include:

  • Demonstrated experience and advanced skills in delivering mental health interventions in a range of mental health settings to young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health presentations..
  • Advanced clinical skills in managing young people at risk, including suicide and violence risks. 
  • A broad understanding of the mental health service system in the state and national reforms, and knowledge of relevant legislation. 
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Are your credentials:

  • Qualifications in an Allied Health discipline including Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing (Div 1) or Occupational Therapy. Occupational therapists who have full and current professional registration to practice from AHPRA must also have completed additional mental health-specific training or endorsement in mental health. Division 1 Mental Health Nurses who have full and current professional registration must also have completed mental health specific training or have endorsement in mental health.
  • Current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (APHRA); or membership of eligibility for membership with  Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) .
  • A current Drivers Licence. 

Desirable; 

  • Current registration as an APHRA approved supervisor for psychology internships is desirable but not essential.
  • Current eligibility as an Allied Mental Health Professional to provide Medicare funded psychological therapies.
