About the Role

As our new Nurse – Sexual and Reproductive Health at Hamilton headspace, you will step into an ongoing, part-time role (0.2 EFT) delivering high-quality, youth-centred care within a welcoming nurse-led clinic designed to meet young people where they are; with respect, safety, and trust. With a strong focus on health promotion and early intervention, you will walk alongside young people, recognising their strengths and lived experience, and supporting them to build confidence, knowledge, and agency in making informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health within a safe, inclusive, and affirming space.

Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will also partner closely with colleagues across Brophy programs, headspace services, and community organisations.

You’ll bring a calm, confident presence to complex and sometimes high-pressure situations, balancing sound clinical judgement with strong professional boundaries. With a commitment to outreach and early intervention, you’ll extend care beyond clinic walls and into the spaces where young people feel most comfortable.

This role suits a values-driven nurse who thrives on autonomy, collaboration, and meaningful impact. We also welcome applications from nurses with GP supervision support for an expanded scope of practice, as this would further strengthen our service offering to young people at the Centre.

Do your skills include:

  • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience, preferably in a community-based role or working with young people.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of general practice and interest in community-based nursing including patient education and health promotion.
  • Knowledge of current recommended health checks for young people, immunisation schedules, primary care, infection control, CPR and emergency response.
  • Ability to engage young people from a variety of backgrounds.

Are your credentials:

  • Qualified Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  • Competency and experience in adolescent health and development, primary health care, community health, mental health, public health and/or health promotion.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Australian Practice Nurse Association (APNA) and Professional Indemnity Insurance as required.
  • A current Drivers Licence.
