Fixed-term contract for a Junior Business Partner / Senior HR Advisor to support a People and Culture team during a period of growth and transition!

People and Culture Advisor (35 hours per week / 6 months FTC)
We’re looking for a hands‑on Junior HR Business Partner / Senior HR Advisor to join our People & Culture team during a period of transition and high recruitment activity. The role reports directly into the People and Culture Manager.
This role is operational and delivery‑focused. It’s ideal for a strong HR generalist who enjoys being close to the work — recruitment, employee relations and day‑to‑day advice — rather than a strategic HRBP role.
The role creates immediate capacity while we recruit and onboard a new Chief People Officer, and offers excellent exposure, learning and development within a supportive HR team.
Key focus areas
1. Recruitment & resourcing
You will:
- Deliver end‑to‑end recruitment in partnership with hiring managers following Bridge’s Recruitment and Selection Policy
- Manage multiple concurrent vacancies across a range of roles, from frontline and customer service through to senior managers and technical specialists
- Provide a high‑touch, candidate‑focused experience, including thoughtful, development‑oriented feedback for internal applicants
- Help minimise external agency spend through strong in‑house recruitment delivery
- Where partnership with specialist recruitment agencies is required for selected roles, represent Bridge Housing professionally and confidently
2. Employee relations & investigations
You will:
- Manage standard ER matters, including grievances, conduct issues and investigations in line with Bridge’s Complaints and Grievance Handling Procedure
- Triage issues and resolve matters in line with policies, procedures and good practice
- Provide coaching and support to managers on ER issues
- Escalate complex or high‑risk matters to the People and Culture Manager as required
3. HR advisory & day‑to‑day support
You will:
- Provide clear, practical HR advice aligned with policies, SCHADS Award provisions and employment legislation
- Support managers with confidence and consistency when navigating people issues
- Draft HR documentation, including employment contracts and HR letters
- Assist with leave queries and day‑to‑day use of Employment Hero system (HR and Payroll joint platform)
- Ensure documentation is accurate, compliant and supports effective employee outcomes across the lifecycle

About You
You’re likely to bring:
- Solid experience as an HR Advisor or operational HR Business Partner, ideally in an Award‑based environment
- Practical experience across recruitment delivery, ER case management and HR documentation
- A collaborative, approachable style with strong stakeholder management skills
- Confidence working alongside senior leaders and documenting workforce outcomes clearly
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and governance mindset
- A proactive, accountable approach — you follow things through
- Comfort working in a small, supportive team where flexibility and shared responsibility matter
Experience in a SCHADS‑covered environment or community / NFP sector is highly regarded, but not essential.

- This role is graded as a Level 5 under the SCHADs; Bridge’s remuneration package ranges from $110,861-$115,884 plus superannuation
