About the Role
The Breakaway Group is expanding its Marine Field Services team and is seeking an experienced Marine Electrician to join our Victoria-based operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a senior marine electrician who enjoys leading crews while remaining actively on the tools. You’ll work across a diverse range of vessel, port, and coastal infrastructure projects, playing a key role in delivering safe, high-quality outcomes and helping shape the continued growth of our marine services.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead and supervise marine electrical field crews
• Electrical installation, maintenance, and upgrades across:
o Marine vessels
o Ports, wharves, and coastal assets
• Commissioning and servicing of generators, switchboards, UPS, and shore power systems
• Fault finding and repair of pumps, motors, navigation lighting, and instrumentation
• Coordinate dockside maintenance, shutdowns, and retrofit works
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and maritime requirements
• Mentor apprentices and junior electricians, setting standards on site
• Support job planning, reporting, and client communication

About You
Essential:
• A-Class Electrical Licence (Victoria)
• Experience in marine, port, defence, or coastal infrastructure environments
• Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Current Driver’s Licence
• White Card
• CPR / LVR
• Australian Citizenship
Required (or willing to obtain):
• Police Check
• MSIC card
• Pre-employment medical and D&A screening
Desirable:
• Current MSIC pass
• PLC / SCADA exposure
• EWP, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces
• Marine First Aid or HV experience
