About the opportunity
We’re growing and looking for a Wellfield Leading Hand to join our team at Honeymoon.
Reporting to the Wellfields Construction Supervisor, you’ll lead small team to build new leaching wellfields and provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and support, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.
As the key communication link between the Wellfield Construction team and the Supervisor, you’ll assist in planning, allocating tasks, monitoring performance, and promoting a positive safety and team culture.
You’ll play an important role in driving operational effectiveness and developing the skills and capabilities of the team.
The role will be FIFO from the Adelaide charter terminal or Port Augusta airport direct to site. We will also consider DIDO from Broken Hill.
The initial roster will be 2:2, trialled until mid year, it may then revert an 8:6 roster.
In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:
- Assist the Supervisor to plan and deliver wellfield construction work programs
- Allocate daily tasks and resources to the team
- Ensure adherence to safe work instructions and risk assessments.
- Monitor team productivity and adjust plans as required to meet works schedule
- Champion safe work practices and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure assets are constructed to specified standards.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to develop skills of team members.
- Complete poly welding tasks an operate machinery as required.
About You
What you’ll need:
- A valid Australian driver’s license, forklift license and ideally, a telehandler ticket.
- Proven experience in leading small teams.
- Experience in a similar role in mining.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships.
- Experience operating a range of machinery.
- A proactive and solutions focused approach.
- A strong focus on and commitment to, working safely.
While not essential, the following tickets/licenses will be highly regarded:
- Poly welding
- HIAB loader crane
- Bobcat, backhoe or excavator
