About the opportunity
As Australia’s newest uranium producer, we’re growing and looking for an experienced Medical Emergency Services Officer (MESO) to join the Health & Safety team at Honeymoon.
The role will be FIFO from Adelaide or Port Augusta, direct to site on an 8:6 roster.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent you’ll take ownership of the readiness and response capability across medical, emergency (including fire) and rescue for all personnel and incidents across site.
You’ll plan and deliver training to site personnel including the Emergency Response Team (ERT) across a range of medical and mine rescue disciplines to ensure a state of preparedness to support an effective response to any incident.
Being confident and assured, you’ll engage easily with our teams on site and build and maintain positive and productive relationships.
With high levels of integrity, you’ll maintain the confidentiality of personal interactions and records relating to the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our team members.

About you
In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:
Lead the ERT in managing any incidents.
Manage medical equipment/consumables/medication, ensuring sufficient stock levels and compliance with RFDS and site protocols.
Ensure fire and rescue equipment and consumables are available and operational.
Plan and deliver weekend refresher training to the ERT team.
Provide refresher first aid related training sessions to site teams.
Assist with site inductions for new starters, contractors and visitors.
Provide injury management support and guidance.
Maintain accurate and confidential case notes and records.
About You
What you’ll need:

- Significant experience in a similar role in the mining industry.

- The proven ability to deliver training to small groups.

- Current Australian driver’s and MR truck licenses; the ability to drive manual vehicles.

- A Certificate IV in Healthcare (First Responder/Paramedic)

- A Certificate III in Mine Rescue (or working towards completion)

- Proficiency with the MS Office suite and safety systems eg Donesafe

- A strong continuous improvement focus.

- A results orientated approach
- Be able to pass a pre-employment medical and National Police Check
While not essential, the following will be highly regarded:
A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
Completion of an Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) course
Experience conducting drug & alcohol testing
Completion of Return-to-Work Coordinator training
