Job Purpose: Your purpose as a Bar Hand is to support the beverage program by preparing exceptional juices and cold drinks, managing order flow, and maintaining a pristine workspace. You are the backbone of the bar section, ensuring that every customer interaction is seamless and every glass is sparkling. You are expected to deliver consistent quality within a high-volume environment while upholding strict hygiene and organizational standards.

Key Result Areas

  • Beverage Preparation: You are responsible for the execution of our cold beverage menu, including fresh juices and specialty iced drinks. Your ability to follow recipes accurately and present drinks with flair ensures a consistent product for every guest.
  • Operational Flow: Your role is vital in managing the pace of the bar. By efficiently taking orders and communicating clearly with the floor and kitchen teams, you ensure that service remains fluid and wait times are minimized.
  • Hygiene & Maintenance: You are the guardian of cleanliness in the bar area. This includes the rapid turnaround of glassware and small dishes, as well as the meticulous cleaning of juicers and beverage equipment. A clear, uncluttered section is essential for your mental clarity and physical efficiency.
  • Product Knowledge: You will maintain a comprehensive understanding of our cold drink ingredients, seasonal juices, and the wider cafe menu to confidently assist guests with their selections.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Service Speed & Accuracy: Your success is measured by the timely delivery of cold beverages and the accuracy of orders taken. Smooth transitions during peak “rush” periods indicate high performance in this area.
  • Sanitation Standards: An impeccable bar section and a constant supply of clean glassware are non-negotiable. You will be assessed on your ability to maintain these standards throughout the entirety of your shift.
  • Customer Engagement: Positive interactions at the point of sale and proactive service at the bar are key. Your ability to answer product inquiries without needing to defer to senior staff shows growth and confidence in your role.

Pay Scale

Different levels of pay are associated with the roles of Junior, Introduction, Bar Attendant, Barista, Shift Supervisor, Team Leader, and Restaurant Manager, each requiring a different level of experience and expertise.
