About you and the role
BGF is looking for a creative, motivated and digitally confident Digital Marketing Specialist to join our Public Engagement team and help shape our digital presence, grow our supporter community and bring powerful stories to life.
If you love creating engaging content, building digital campaigns, understanding what connects with audiences and experimenting with new ideas in a diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace – this is the role for you.
You’ll work across the full digital mix: social, website, email, analytics, SEO/SEM, design, video and more.
Your work will directly help strengthen the communities we serve.

In addition, you will need to meet the following:
Qualifications, skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or a sound professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Sound (e.g. minimum 3-5 years’) experience in digital marketing, digital content, communications or similar
- Proven ability to run end-to-end digital campaigns (planning, execution, optimisation, reporting)
- Strong capability in content creation (design)
- CMS (WordPress preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and reporting dashboard
- SEO/SEM
- Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager
- Email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Raisers Edge or similar)
- Strong analytic skills; ability to translate data into actionable
insights
- Ability to read, interpret and execute agency media plans,
including channel mix, targeting, budgets, timelines and optimisation
recommendations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify complex
ideas
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and
deliver high-quality outputs.
It is also highly desirable if you have:
- Experience in not-for-profit, community health, advocacy or social impact organisations
- Knowledge of HIV, LGBTQIA+ communities, disability, aged care or health communications
- Experience coordinating and supporting events
- Knowledge of and experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
