Job Summary
As one of the key members of the team the Staff Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals for up to 100 team members in a busy ski resort catering environment. This role supports daily food service operations, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, ensuring meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and to consistent standards.
The Staff Cook follows established recipes and menus, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, assists with food preparation and storage, and helps ensure timely service. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, seasonal environment, demonstrates strong teamwork, and maintains a high level of organisation and cleanliness.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in high-volume catering or resort kitchens preferred.
- Good working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with excellent time management skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Preparing high-quality meals for staff and catering to any dietary requirements.
- Expense/budget and stores control.
- Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, licensing and other laws
- First Aid and Food Safety Certificates are desirable.
- A Working with Children Check will also be required.

Other Functions
- Shovel snow near the entrances and delivery dock
NOTE All Charlotte Pass Snow Resort employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.

- With some customer contact, must be helpful, friendly, courteous and professional in accordance with Charlotte Pass’ commitment to providing superior customer service.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, and lifting up to 25kgs. Some bending and squatting to move food and supplies.
Work Environment
The position involves regular exposure to open flames and hot items, and the use of potentially hazardous sharp cutting utensils. Most work is performed indoors, but some occasional outdoor work, such as snow shoveling, may be required. Outdoor work is performed in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces.
