We are seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Engineer to join our team during in a fully dedicated, fully remote nightshift role. As part of our Enterprise Service Desk team, you will work within a supportive environment providing Level 1 technical support, you will work with top-tier tech partners, and gain hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Windows OS, Active Directory, and networking.
This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and providing exceptional support to our customers. In your role as a Nightshift Desktop Support Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of our organisation, and helping to ensure that our customers have reliable and dedicated support 24/7.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver remote Level 1 support in a dedicated nightshift role working in 7 days on /
7 days off roster.
- Act as a customer advocate, ensuring timely responses to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, or electronically within dedicated nightshift business hours.
- Troubleshoot, manage and resolve IT issues.
- Research solutions using available intranet and knowledge databases.
- Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions.
- Advise user on appropriate action, sometimes education of user is required.
- Document support activities in the ITSM system.
- Follow customer specific guidelines and processes to ensure tickets and requests are managed effectively and efficiently. Identify
and effectively prioritise situations requiring urgent attention.
- Stay current with system information, changes, and updates.
- Maintain excellent communication with all end users and other members of the technology
department.
- Learn from & collaborate with experienced IT professionals
What You Bring:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Knowledge and experience of IT desktop services & application support practices.
- 2-3 years working in a service desk / desktop support role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows desktops and notebooks, as well as iOS devices, in a networked environment.
- Knowledge & understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft O365 suite, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, AD & Outlook.
- You’re highly motivated by technology and the challenge of solving complex issues.
- Strong communication with a passion for providing outstanding customer experience
- Preferred experience in a nightshift environment – working independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
- Ability to self-manage your time
- Strong Priority management skills.
